What is the dress code?
Black Tie Optional. Newport is known for its timeless elegance, and we’d love for our celebration to reflect that spirit. Black Tie optional means a tuxedo or formal dark suit and tie is perfectly appropriate for men, while women are encouraged to wear a floor-length dress or a sophisticated pantsuit. Think classic, polished, and celebration-ready without the full pressure of Black Tie. To help you get a sense of the style and setting, we’ve created a Pinterest board with some outfit inspiration. Think of it like a wedding mood board for those of you who like a starting point.
Will the ceremony be outside?
Yes, it’ll be outside next to the water— unless it rains…in which case we will be devastated but also indoors. Please note the ceremony will be on the Harbor Lawn so be strategic with your shoe choice!
Are children invited to the wedding?
We love your little ones—but for this particular party, we’re keeping it adults-only. It’s not you, it’s us (and our open bar).
Will there be parking available?
While there will be limited parking available at the Gardiner and in adjacent lots, we suggest you uber over from your hotel to ensure you can enjoy the night!
Can I bring a guest?
We’re so excited to celebrate with our closest friends and family! Due to space limitations, we are only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If your invitation says “and guest,” then we’d love for you to bring someone along. Otherwise, we hope you’ll still join us solo—we promise it’ll be a great time!
Where should we stay for the weekend?
We’re so excited you’re coming! Newport has a lot of great options depending on what you’re looking for. Here are some that we recommend. Additionally, we suggest looking at Inns or Airbnbs in the area as well. There are also a limited number of rooms available at the Gardiner House for the weekend, if you are interested in a room please reach out to Ashley or Evan.
When should I RSVP by?
Invitations will go out in July. We ask that you please RSVP by August 15th. If you received our Save the Date but know you won’t be able to make it, no hard feelings at all (though you will be missed) just let us know so we can plan accordingly. Email: ashleymgoncalves2@gmail.com
